What to Expect From the Launchpad Festival and Conference

Launchpad Conference and Festival Poster.

Next week the Launchpad Conference and Festival takes over venues across Leeds! We’ve put together a little preview of what to expect over the two days and how you can get involved...

Supporting local artists Launchpad provides a platform for music professionals to progress in their careers – be that providing space and stages for musicians or support and advice for those working in other areas of the industry!

Here’s Whiskas, Director of Launchpad to telling us a little bit more: “Over the last few months it’s been great to deliver events and host live music again, but we are massively looking forward to our Conference & Festival, bringing together an amazing collection of emerging artists from the region, alongside those building a career in music – to listen, learn, network and perform.”

Supporting the Music Industry

If you’re involved in music at any level then head down to Quarry Hill and get involved with the Launchpad Conference next week. Taking place in both Leeds Conservatoire and The Wardrobe this is great opportunity for anyone aspiring to work in the music industry as an artist or music professional, with speakers from the local music scene, and those working on a national and international level.

The line-up for the Launchpad Conference, taking place on Thursday 14th April at Leeds Conservatoire and The Wardrobe.

A real highlight will be the keynote talk, delivered by multi-talented Saxophonist, Composer and Broadcaster, YolanDa Brown. YolanDa Brown brings in a great depth of wisdom and experience of the music industry as some of her achievements include acting as chair for Youth Music, launching London Saxophone Festival, setting up funds to support music teaching within schools, as well as being a world-wide touring and critically acclaimed musician.

The day will also include panels and workshops from other leading figures in the music industry along with networking opportunities throughout the day. Tickets for the conference are free / pay as you feel, but you need to register in advance to attend, here.

Enjoy a day of music!

The following day the Launchpad Festival takes centre stage, an all day event taking place this bank holiday Friday (15th April). Bring on the sun, good vibes and of course, a day of brilliant music by Launchpad supported artists!
