Due to the nature of processional works, we anticipate that Nest will feel busy and quite crowded at times. Occurring at dusk, the lighting design will involve the use of projection and colourful targeted lights. Amplified music and spoken word will also be used throughout the performance.
St Aidan's RSPB Nature Park is a step-free site. The ground condition is hard, compacted earth that is at times topped with loose, mixed-sized gravel. The path that takes visitors down to Bowers Lake is of a medium gradient, and the return up to the car park is also via this path.
If you have access to MTB-style wheels or a track/free wheel attachment, we strongly advise that you bring this with you. Volunteer Access Champions will also be on hand to provide bespoke support to anyone who requests it.
To ensure the best experience for visitors who are wheelchair users, we also recommend that you position yourself near the front of the procession. The team based at the access information point will be on hand to support visitors to navigate to this position and to ensure sightlines are maintained throughout the performance.
