All Key Stages
Free Art learning resources for EYFS-KS5 to celebrate Dutch artist Afra Eisma’s first UK solo show!
We’ve partnered with The Tetley and commissioned a brand-new suite of learning resources for Art at EYFS up to KS5. Inspired by Afra Eisma’s playful, colourful, and interactive exhibition at The Tetley, learners can respond to the artist’s themes, techniques and style either in school or by visiting the exhibition up to 22nd October.
These resources will help to meet the Art National Curriculum requirements of learning about a range of artists and their practices and discipline, as well as learning about colours, textures, shape, form and space from Afra’s playful designs.
There are 9 resources in total, some are adaptable for each key stage and some are for specific key stages.
The resources can be used in school, and learners can respond to Afra Eisma’s work online and watch an interview with her.
Alternatively, the resources can accompany a visit to the exhibition at The Tetley. If you wish to arrange a trip to see the splashdown tender exhibition, please contact Jack James, Participation & Engagement Curator at The Tetley: jack.james@thetetley.org / 0113 320 2323
The brewery-turned-gallery will be filled with her trademark ceramics and textiles, each with a tale to tell.
From imaginary characters to snapshots of intimate relationships, Eisma’s work is brimming with humour, sensuality, and satire. And don’t worry about keeping your hands to yourself either. Visitors are encouraged to cuddle, poke, squash, and sit on the pieces, plunging you headfirst into the artist’s whimsical world.
The exhibition is on until 22 October. Plan your visit.
